Conveyancing Activity if the Property Bubble Bursts

If you are starting out in the property market, you would not want the property bubble to burst, you would want it to explode. Unfortunately, for new buyers, neither has taken place. This is despite ample commentary warning people to step back because it’s going to blow at any moment. From a conveyancer’s point of view, any downward correction in prices has typically brought with it a reduction in sales activity. Therefore, it is with some relief to know that April was not the month that the so-called bubble burst. Is it possible that the tried and true trend […]

Turn Passive Visitors To Your Website Into Conveyancing Clients

The 100 years of (combined) experience in your firm is impressive. However the next website that your prospective client visits might have 101 years.   Website profile pictures of friendly faces can cause a website visitor to linger for that extra three seconds before they go off to do another Google search.  Glowing testimonials on your website might give a prospect the urge to pick up the phone but chances are they are at work and the boss is looking over their shoulder. A website quoting tool that is “plugged” into a legal practice website is the perfect activity for a prospective […]

Another Look at Access to Justice

Is it that time already? Another formal enquiry into Access to Justice. It is easy to be sceptical when so many previous enquiries have come and gone yet the problems have stubbornly remained.  The last major enquiry of this type ended a little over two years ago. On that occasion it was the economists at the Productivity Commission who produced a comprehensive report. One of their more controversial recommendations was to permit the use of contingency fees.   On this occasion the enquiry is called a “project” and has been initiated by the Law Council of Australia. The report from The Justice Project is expected before the end of 2017.  The Justice Project A Steering Committee of […]
